The Macon Fellows Program has grown out of an awareness that many young people today desire the spiritual development necessary to become part of the next generation of Christ-centered leaders in the workplace, in ministry, in their families, and in their communities.
The nine months are spent studying what it looks like to be a follower of Christ in our vocation, in our city, and in our relationships. Different facets of the program become the teaching ground for putting into practice what is learned:
- Paid internships
- Community service
- Ministry area focus within the church
- Seminary classes
- Fellows Bible studies and training
- Mentoring by an mature Christian
- Host family living situations
- Involvement with the young adult group
As a Fellow, you will see the strengths, weaknesses, beauty, pains, and potential of Macon as a city. The goal, however, is not just to observe, but to engage. Through internships, service, and daily life, you will be faced with countless opportunities to live and bring the Gospel, hope, and life into this city.
THE FELLOWS INITIATIVE
“The Fellows Initiative (TFI) promotes the understanding that all of life is ministry by helping to establish and nurture Fellows Programs in local churches across the country. Governed by a Board of Directors, TFI ensures that the essential components of Fellows Programs are in place. Each local program is committed to the same core principles and has essential components. Yet because of their diverse nature, each Fellows Program offers something unique. TFI plans conferences and retreats for all Fellows to participate in. TFI promotes community among Fellows Program leadership across the country for mutual prayer and practical support.”
